Late 19th century charcoal drawing of the head of an Arab stallion by Montgomery, signed and dated 1896. In untouched condition including original matting and gold gilded oak frame. This remarkable quality portrait of the horse is executed very realistically; the horse looks alive. It is a true work of art. In good condition (no holes or riped paper) considering its age, except for a horizontal brown discoloration caused by the old wooden backing still in place. This small imperfection can easily be fixed. The size of the picture with the frame is 29 3/8 inches (74 ½ cm) by 23 3/8 inches (59.4cm).
