An authentic antique museum quality early 19th century Napoleonic period hand painted miniature on an ivory panel and mounted in its original frame. The miniature is an actual portrait of an upper-class young woman wearing an empire style dress from the Napoleonic period time with a sheer shawl draped around her head and shoulders and long gloves on her hands. The portrait was custom painted by fine brush with outstanding details. Due to the difficulties in painting a miniature portrait such miniatures were custom painted for wealthy aristocrats by very well known painters but most of the time were not signed as the custom works represented the actual person so the painter's signature at the front of the portrait was needless. This is a true example of early 19th century fine art. Condition: This original painting is in very good condition with no restorations or repairs. Dimensions with the frame:
