Antique American Civil War sword Model 1840, three bar brass hilt, a wire bound wooden grip with remains of the original leather bounding, a straight single edged blade with spear point and fuller. No apparent maker marks, U.S. or inspector initials, the unusual blade indicates that this is possibly a Confederate made sword. The overall length is: 101.5 cm. (40 in). Condition: The original leather which covers the wooden grip is dried and worn throughout, some pitting to the blade. |
