Antique 19th century Box Engraving after Jean .Honore Fragonard

Antique 19th century French brass box. The top of the box is decorated
with very fine executed scenes after a famous painting by Jean-Honore
Fragonard -“Colin Maillard”, with the title incised at the top of the
oval frame “Colin Maillard”, the bottom is signed “d’apres Fragonard
L.B. Gray.” The elevations and the bottom of the box are silver
plated, the interior of the box is finished with its original silk
lining. CONDITION: In good condition considering its age with a nice
patina except that the silver plating of the sides and the bottom of
the box is partly worn out, however the top has no tracing of plating
and looks like it was never plated, the silk is tattered.
