SOLD--Antique 18th century Spanish polychrome gesso- painted wood figure of the standing Crowned Virgin. The Virgin is carved with long strait hair, falling down her back, clad in elaborated green gown falling in long tubular folds with the crescent moon adornment, her arms outstretched before her (missing hands).
MEASUREMENTS: Height; 59cm (23 1/4 inches).
CONDITION: on the bottom part split in the wood, losses and flaking of paint throughout, beautiful age dark patina. |
