Antique 18th century Indian Madu (Maru, Singuata) pry and thrusting Buckler / shield. The shield consists of a pair of antelope horns (Chinkara) mounted parallel, with the points outwards on the back of the small circular convex form steel buckler with brass rim and four domed brass bosses at the centre one of the horn mounted with steel spike. The Madu was a weapon favored by the Marathas usually wielded in the left hand, with a spear, dagger, or sword held in the right.

CONDITION: In good condition considering its age except for some minor pitting on the surface of the steel shield.
