Antique 18th century Hanau Faience Enghalskrug Jug

Antique 18th century 1775 German Hanau blue and white Armorial Jug (Enghalskrug) with a plaited handle, a horizontally ribbed neck with a baluster body with an elaborate Coat-of-Arms incorporating three armorial oval shields surmounted by a winged head of an angle wearing a Bishop's Mitre flanked with the Initials: “FF” “EA”, where the Coat-of-Arms is surrounded by tied palmettes with the date 1775 beneath. The jug is signed on the bottom with a black painted “W “. LITERATURE AND REFERENCES: Gamle Tyske Fajanser, exhibition catalogue, Kunstindustrimuseet, Oslo, 1932, cat.no.28. Another similar Hanau Armorial Enghalskrug is published in the "Miller's Antiques Price Guide 2008” Page 221 at a price of £ 3,250-4000. Height: 31 cm (12 1/4 inches). Condition: Two chips on the rim of the opening and chipped on the foot, no repairs or restorations.
