ES267 Antique 16th Century Turkish Ottoman Sword Mameluke [ES267] Extremely rare 16th century Turkish Ottoman sword Kilig with curved single edged steel blade brooding towards the tip. DETAILS: both sides of the forte with a characteristic for late Mameluke and early Ottoman’s swords gold damascened medallions with Kufic calligraphy, the hilt is 18th century replacement with wooden grip-scales and silver back-strap and crossguard. MEASUREMENTS: Overall length: 90cm (35 ½ in). REFERENSES: Similar blades are in collection of Top Saray Museum “Islamic Swords and Swordsmiths” by Unsal Yucel Plate No. 36 and 103.
