|
 |
|
An authentic Antique Chinese Eastern Han Dynasty period time (25-220 A.D).Ancient ceramic Stove model with two cooking pots and wing cup. Reddish earthenware covered with green glaze. In ancient China like in ancient Egypt, the afterlife was conceived as a continuation of life on earth. To provide for the needs of the afterlife, a variety of mortuary objects were buried with the person to enjoy in next existence wealth and happiness.. The ceramic stove would have been used by the model chef to prepare the delicacies most favored by our tomb occupant in the afterlife. Our knowledge of food preparation in the Han dynasty is quite rich. An actual stove would have risen to waist height.[3] The “Neize” chapter (Guide to the Domestic Virtues) of the Liji, written in the first century BCE, provides details of the ingredients, preparation, and presentation of the cuisines of the elite. The stove is in good condition, considering its age, approximately 2000 years except for small chips and chipped on one corner. No repairs or restorations. Dimensions: Length: 33,5cm (13 1/8 in) Width: 23, 5cm (9 ¼ in) Height: 15.3cm (6 in).Due to the fact that the market is flooded by reproductions of Chinese antiques we would like to inform our clients that all our artifacts are 100% authentic antiques, not reproductions, and Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. |
