18TH CENTURY CZECH GERMAN BOOK BOOKS & ENGRAVINGS
Exceptional Bound Collection of 5 books including many copper engravings of very high quality. The first book, in Latin, is the life of the Czech saint John (Joannes) Nepomuci. The title is: Vita B. Joannis Nepomuceni Martyris. It was written by P. Bohuslao Balbino (Augustae Vindelicoam, typis Joannis Jacobi Lotteri, 1725). It includes 33 copper engraving showing great detail. It consists of 50 pages plus the engravings. The second book in German is a collection of 40 sermons and articles by an anonymous writer (Augsburg, Johann Michael Labhart, 1724). It consists of 300 pages. Then there are two pamphlets in German of the saints Cyril and Methodious, one from 1727 (Wien, Johann Peter v. Ohelen) with 24 pages and a second by P.M. Donato Uberlaker (Wienn, Johann Baptist Schilgen, 1726) with 24 pages. The last piece is a commentary on the Abt Bernardus Weyland by P. Malachiam Welcher (Prague, Wolffgang Wickhart, 1710) in German. The book is bound in fine vellum. Size: 6 ½ x 8 inches, 16.5 x 20 cm.
